I have loved colour for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I would rebel by wearing an orange GAP fleece over my school uniform—though I now know orange isn’t my colour! Bright colours instantly lift my mood and energise me. Similarly, creating outfits and accessorising has always been a passion. I love experimenting with different combinations and regularly refresh my wardrobe.

My journey into Positive Psychology began as I approached 30. After experiencing depression, post-natal anxiety, and diagnoses of Coeliac and Hashimoto’s Diseases, I found solace in Positive Psychology. Starting my Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) during maternity leave and completing my dissertation during the 2020 lockdown was challenging, but this field helped me to thrive. Positive Psychology, ‘the study of what makes life worth living’, emphasises strengths, flow, and meaning. Since earning my Masters, I’ve been passionate about empowering others to flourish through coaching and mentoring.

For me, colour and style are transformative Positive Psychology tools. What we wear significantly impacts mood, confidence and self-expression. My top VIA character strength, ‘Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence’, fuels my passion for Personal Styling. Combining Positive Psychology with styling feels like a natural evolution of my journey.

I first explored personal colour analysis a decade ago, and it became my style guide. For my 40th birthday, I revisited the process, discovering new insights. Inspired by my stylist’s transformation and needing a fresh direction, I enrolled in the five-day intensive course. The experience was life-changing, equipping me to help others confidently. Nisha’s mentoring has been instrumental in honing my craft and launching my business.

At 40, I primarily work with women navigating transitions like divorce, perimenopause, parenting, or bereavement, which may disrupt confidence and style. I also support new mothers rediscovering their identity. My MAPP dissertation developed a Positive Psychology Intervention for new mothers, integrating personal styling as a key element. Beyond transitions, I assist anyone seeking a confidence boost or a wardrobe refresh!

I thoroughly enjoyed my Style ME training and it was exactly what I needed at the time. The course was fun, thorough and informative and gave me the confidence to start working as a Personal Stylist. Nisha's ongoing mentoring has provided me with the guidance and reassurance that I needed whilst setting up my business and beyond. She is inspiring, challenging and compassionate - the perfect trainer!
