This is a question I get asked a lot, so I want to answer it properly and clear it up from the start.
No — Style ME Training is not a franchise.
Now, I understand why people ask this, because when you start looking into training and building a new career, you’ll come across different models. Some companies offer franchise opportunities, others offer training, and sometimes the two can look quite similar on the surface.
Especially when you see that we offer support, mentoring, and even visibility through our platform, it’s easy to assume that it might work like a franchise.
But it doesn’t.
And that’s been a very deliberate decision.
Why People Think It Might Be a Franchise
When people first speak to me, they’re often looking for more than just a course.
They want guidance.
They want structure.
They want support after the training.
And they want to feel like they’re not just being left on their own to figure everything out.
That’s usually what attracts people to franchise models.
A franchise can feel like a “safe” option because everything is already set up for you. There’s a brand, a system, and a structure you can step into.
So when people hear that with my five-day intensive training you get ongoing support, help with your business, and visibility through the Style ME platform, they sometimes assume it must be a franchise.
But the reality is, it gives you the best parts of that support — without the restrictions.
What You Actually Get Instead
If you come onto the five-day plus intensive course, you get what I call the Style ME Training membership.
And this is where things are very different from a standard training course.
You’re not just coming in, learning, and then being sent off on your own.
You get direct, one-to-one access to me.
We work on your business plan together, so you’re not sitting there wondering how to actually turn your training into a business. You’ll have clarity on what services you’re offering, how you’re positioning yourself, and how you’re going to get started.
You’ll also have a professional photoshoot, which is really important because when you’re starting out, your image and your branding matter. This gives you content you can actually use straight away.
Your profile is then added to our database of stylists, which means clients can find you and book you directly.
And on top of that, you’re able to use the Style ME website as a platform.
So instead of feeling like you need to rush into building your own website straight away, you’ve got somewhere credible to direct people to. Your profile sits there, connected to the Style ME brand, which gives you a level of trust and professionalism from day one.
Especially if you haven’t come from a styling background, that credibility is really important.
The Credibility Factor
When you say you’ve trained with Style ME and that you’re part of the Style ME network, it carries weight.
It tells people you’ve been trained properly.
It shows that you’re part of something established.
It gives reassurance to potential clients who might be booking a stylist for the first time.
That’s a huge advantage when you’re starting out.
But again, this is where people start to think — “This sounds like a franchise.”
But Let Me Be Clear — It’s Not a Franchise
You are not tied into my brand.
You are not restricted in how you work.
You are not limited to a postcode.
And I am not taking a percentage of your income.
That’s the key difference.
With most franchise models, you’ll pay a large upfront fee, and then there are ongoing costs. You’re expected to follow their exact system, sometimes even use their products, and often operate within strict boundaries.
You might be told where you can work, how you can market yourself, and what you can charge.
That’s exactly what I didn’t want to create.
Why I Chose Not to Build a Franchise Model
When I built Style ME Training, I made a conscious decision not to turn it into a franchise.
I didn’t want to be watching over people like Big Brother.
I didn’t want to limit how you grow your business.
And I definitely didn’t want to create a model where you’re constantly paying into something or feeling restricted.
What I wanted instead was to give you the skills, the knowledge, and the support to go out and build something that is your own.
Because ultimately, this is your business.
You Build Your Business — Your Way
When you train with me, you’re not stepping into a pre-set system that you have to follow.
You’re building your own brand.
You decide:
- What services you offer
- Who your target clients are
- How you price your services
- How you market yourself
- How big or small you want your business to be
Some people want to do this part-time around family life.
Some want to leave their corporate job and build something full-time.
Some want to specialise in colour analysis, others in wardrobe styling or personal shopping.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
And I think that’s really important.
The Support Is Still There
Just because it’s not a franchise doesn’t mean you’re left on your own.
Far from it.
You’ve still got me there as support.
You can ask questions, check things with me, and get guidance as you build your business. A lot of my delegates stay in touch long after training, whether they need reassurance, advice, or just someone to bounce ideas off.
So you’re supported — but not controlled.
How It Benefits Both of Us
The way I see it is this.
The better you do, the better it reflects on the training.
When you go out into the world and say you’ve trained with Style ME, and you’re confident, knowledgeable, and doing well, it naturally strengthens the brand.
That’s how I grow my business.
Through the success of the people I train.
I don’t need to restrict you or take a percentage from you for that to happen.
So… Is It a Franchise?
No.
It’s not a franchise.
But the five-day intensive course does give you that level of support, structure, and credibility that people often associate with one.
The difference is, you get all of that without the limitations.
No restrictions.
No ongoing fees.
No being told how to run your business.
Just proper training, real support, and the freedom to build something that’s yours.
Final Thought
If you’re looking for a structure where everything is controlled for you, then a franchise might suit you.
But if you want the skills, the support, and the freedom to build your own business in your own way, then this is a very different model.
And for most people, that’s exactly what they’re looking for — even if they don’t realise it at the start.
