Style ME Training

On the course I tend to see two types of women.

The first is the woman who is already known as the stylish one in her group. She gets complimented a lot, friends ask her what to wear, and she usually feels quite confident in her style. The second is the woman who loves the idea of becoming a personal stylist but quietly feels her own style could do with a bit of help first.

Both types come on the course, and both go through the same process. I always say that your first client on the training is you.

As we start learning about colour analysis and body shape, delegates naturally begin applying that knowledge to themselves. This is where the “da-da” moments come in. Suddenly someone realises why a certain neckline never quite worked, or why they always feel amazing in one particular dress or always get complimented when they wear a particular colour.

Often during the training though, I can see the doubt creep in, because the look they thought they had completely nailed might not actually be their most flattering. But with a push from me and the other delegates, they soon see how a different colour or shape can work even better. And then the fun begins. People start trying colours they’d normally avoid, testing different styles and pushing themselves outside their comfort zone. And of course, being your own first client also gives you a very good excuse to go shopping, which everyone loves!

Once people start making those changes and they really work, others notice. Friends, family and colleagues start asking what they’ve done differently and that is often how their styling business begins.

They suddenly have a real reference point. They can talk honestly about their own experience — how learning their colours, styles and brands elevated their own image. That honesty is so powerful. It makes them relatable. It also makes them inspirational, because people can see the transformation for themselves.

Sharing that journey, including the vulnerability of realising you hadn’t always got it right, helps future clients trust the process. It makes them think, “If it worked for her, maybe it could work for me too.”

So yes, while the course isn’t about giving you a makeover for the sake of it, you do naturally start styling yourself first. And that ends up being one of the most valuable parts of the whole experience.

Watch the video to look at Amelia’s story, her style was completely challenged during the training and after some initial hesitation, she’s now totally embraced her new look.
