It’s now been 6 months since we’ve launched our 5 day intensive training course, where delegates in 1 intensive week learn everything they need ever know to become a successful personal stylist. 6 courses later and the launch of 13 new Style ME Stylists we couldn’t be more proud with the results!
Regardless of how much enthusiasm you have when you launch a new course you never really know how good it will be so Mary Ann and I entered this new launch with excitement but much trepidation. We had loved teaching the short courses since 2012 but after much demand from our National and International delegates wanting to learn every module without having to spend too much on travel and hotel bills we decided to create our one week Intensive Training course. Not knowing quite how big the demand was we have been so surprised that we’ve had equal numbers of London based delegates attending or enquiring about our Intensive training as International students.
Everyone who enquires, always asks us “what’s the difference between doing the short courses and the 1 week intensive training?” To be honest in terms of course content there’s not a lot but what is different is the attitude, determination and motivation of the actual delegates. Maybe because they are in smaller groups so there’s no hiding in the back of the room or time to daydream, or perhaps it’s because they have had to take their precious holiday time off work or get grandparents to take over child care for the whole week so they have the added pressure to be committed or it could just simply be because they really really want to learn and have finally come to a crossroads in life where it’s now or never!
One thing that ALL the delegates that attend the Intensive Training do have in common is that they are ALL working as Personal Stylists pretty much as soon as they leave the course and for us that’s the biggest compliment and reassurance that our training really does work and beats our competition in every way! When we devised this training we really put our heart and soul into it, putting ourselves into the shoes of our new not so confident delegates. We honestly believe that we have thought of everything to make the transition into being a PAID Personal Stylist as effortless as possible. Not only do we train our delegates on all the necessary skills needed from; Personal Shopping, Wardrobe Styling, Colour Analysis, Make up to Mens Styling but we’ve added so much more…and our post training mentoring programme seems to be the most valued service when speaking to our stylists.
The one thing all the delegates dread the most is actually having a real life client, where by day 4 they do a mini wardrobe styling session, colour analysis and Personal Shopping session on a paying Style ME client! Imagine that? Of course we’re pushing them totally out of their comfort zone and on Wednesday night they are probably cursing us but trust me, nothing fills them with more joy and confidence when their real client is thanking them for their services, leaving the store with all the purchases that THEY chose for them!! We have confidence in our delegates because we KNOW they’ll be able to nail it as we at Style ME teach them the formula to style anybody no matter what their size, age, budget or lifestyle and it never let’s us down!
Of course the moment they get the confidence in styling the next question is always, “how will I get my clients?” and this is where the business planning and mentoring comes in. We work with every one of our delegates individually finding them tangible ways for them to grow their client base and with our recent collaboration with Stella & Dot jewellery we are providing all of our delegates with a side line jewellery selling business and a proven track record of getting into the doors of potential personal styling clients as well as an additional revenue making stream.
But let’s not forget the biggest way to grow your business is for you to set the perfect example on how to look your best, so whether delegates have all the confidence in their personal style or have lost their way a little, by the end of the week they will have definitely had their own mini make over just in time for their photo shoot, where they are looking and most importantly feeling like a Personal Stylist, dressing their shape and wearing their colours!
